Lady Scots CC – McKinney Boyd Invitational

The Lady Scots Cross Country Team competed at the McKinney Boyd Invitational on Saturday, September 9th.  In the 6A Varsity Girls’ Division, the team placed first out of seven teams with 26 points.  The team was led by freshman Sophia Oliai as she placed first with a time of 18:45.79 (a new personal record).  Junior Maddy Stephens placed fourth with a time of 19:32.75 (a new personal record), freshman Cameron Fawcett placed fifth with a time of 19:40.1, and sophomore Grace O’Keefe placed sixth with a time of 20:17.72.  The other team members were sophomore Annemarie Whalen who placed 10th with a time of 20:31.44, junior Alex Davey who placed 12th with a time of 20:45.72, and sophomore Gracyn Applegate who placed 17th with a time of 21:16.63.

In the 5A Girls’ Division, the team placed first out of 13 teams with 32 points.  Junior Julia Helton led the team by placing second with a time of 20:13.60 (a new personal record).  Senior captain Emily Nelson placed 5th with a time of 21:05.00 (a new personal record), freshman Sydney Denison (a new personal record) placed 10th with a time of 21:25.04, and junior Anastasia Helms placed 12th with a time of 21:25.45.  The other team members were senior Jordyn Kaplan who placed 18th (22:01.34), junior Ashley Booe who placed 22nd (22:20.79), and senior Ellie Henry who placed 31st (22:40.05).

In the JV Girls’ Division, the team placed first out of 13 teams with 34 points.  The top seven runners were juniors Libby Kinahan (5th – 22:20.13), Aerin Roberts (7th – 22:29.51), and Lizzy Brimmage (9th – 22:36.76 – a new personal record), sophomore Breanne Spence (10th – 22:37.24 – a new personal record), freshmen Hollis Vaughan (11th – 22:38.07 – a new personal record) and Hannah Thayer (12th – 22:43.05 – a new personal record), and junior Anna Garrett (13th – 22:44.71).

The team set 32 new personal records (other athletes are listed above):  sophomore Ava Crofford (23:02.34), junior Ashley Adams (23:08.66), freshman Claire Cochran (23:24.45), freshman Emory Brink (24:10.74), sophomore Elizabeth Laird (24:13.65), sophomore Emily Hea (24:16.73), sophomore Jax Whiteman (24:29.02), sophomore Chloe Malouf (24:36.98), freshman Kendall Ferguson (24:58.01), freshman Ava Love (25:04.44), freshman Cameron Clark (25:10.74), junior Janaki Sundaresan (25:11.9), freshman Olivia Cormier (25:22.35), sophomore Mary Caffey (25:27.14), junior Madeline Ingrum (25:27.83), sophomore Isobel Smith (25:44.66), freshman Caroline Morton (26:09.03), freshman Molly Liston (26:14.86), junior Sterling Alpert (26:41.36), sophomore Caroline Dugan (26:44.97), senior Kiersten Diercks (27:06.11), freshman Anna Haggar (27:08.42), and junior Sophia Jones (27:25.27).

The next meet for the Lady Scots will be the Flower Mound Invitational at Gerault Park in Flower Mound.  The first race starts at 7:30 a.m.
